Adviser on Information and Broadcasting Barrister Saif has said that Jirga between the parties is still going on in Kohat to establish peace in Karam, it is expected that the agreement will be signed by today or tomorrow with the consent of both parties.
Barrister Saif while talking to the media on Karam issue said that we want a solution which is acceptable to all, hope that both parties in Karam will willingly sign the agreement by today or tomorrow.
He said that the government’s role is only that of a mediator, handing over heavy weapons and solving the problem permanently is our demand. In Karam, both the warring tribes will have to hand over all types of arms, not small, to the government.
Barrister Saif said that Jirga is still going on in Kohat for peace in Karam, we want a solution that is acceptable to all, the role of the government is just that of a mediator.
He said that we want the bunkers and fronts of the armed people not to be empty but to be completely demolished, at this time there is only one point of handing over the arms on which the consultation is going on, due to which the matters were in a bit of a deadlock.
The spokesperson of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government said that only 25 km of the more than 80 km road from Til to Pada Chinar is sensitive. Through the agreement, the people of the area where the attack will take place will be held responsible and the people of this area will be held responsible. A fine will also have to be paid for assault.
He said that the Karam dispute is 130 years old, instead of repeating the past, we should learn from the mistakes.
Barrister Saif said that 400 additional police personnel along with 2 platoons of FC will also be deployed at sensitive locations on Tilpara Chinar Road.
The Provincial Adviser on Information and Broadcasting said that he will not comment on DG ISPR’s statement, the decisions of the military courts will be referred to the Supreme Court.
