Colonel (Retd) Qasim Shah, who is known for his most popular military plays and Alpha Bravo Charlie, has recently heard interesting history in an interview.
Former Colonel Qasim Shah said how Gul Sher was the most famous character in Alpha Bravo Charlie.
Colonel Qasim Shah said that director Shoaib Mansoor had an interesting match. This is a matter of days when I was a cadet in the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) and for some reason was punished in the academy while the rest of the cadets went on leave.
Retired Qasim Shah further said that one day the commander called and said that Shoaib Mansoor had come for two days, you have to stay with him and the company is religious.
Former Colonel Qasim Shah said that I showed Shoaib Mansoor to different parts of the academy. They constantly looked at me and smiled, which I was surprised.
Then Shoaib went to Mansoor and I forgot all this, but two months later I was called to the Academy Headquarters where the renowned actors were already sitting.
Qasim Shah said that at first I thought I might have made a mistake, but there I was given a script and was asked to read it.
He continued his talk and said that I was nervous but when the dialogue spoke, everyone was very happy and said, “We got our flower.”
Former Colonel Qasim Shah said that I got the role of Gul Sher in Alpha Bravo Charlie and most of the same role was popular.
It is to be noted that the drama, presented 25 years ago, is still in the minds of the people today. Gul Sher’s simplicity and innocence captivated everyone’s hearts.
