The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the Team of the Year 2024.
Three players from the national team managed to make it to the ICC Team of the Year, including young opener Saeem Ayub, fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi and Harich Rauf.
4 Sri Lankan players have been nominated for the ICC Team of the Year team, Cherith Asalanka has been made the captain of the team while Kaushal Mendes wicket keeper, Sri Lankan batsman Patham Nissanka and spinner Vinandu Hasringa are also included in the middle order.

Apart from them, Afghanistan’s Rehmanullah Garbaz, Azmat Omarzai, AM Ghazanfar are also part of the playing eleven.
The players of many big teams including India, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Bangladesh could not make it.
