Bangladesh’s Special International Crimes Tribunal on October 17 sentenced former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to death while ruling in a case against her. The same tribunal also sentenced her to life imprisonment in another case. had ordered to kill, due to which more than 1400 people died and thousands were injured.
Seven people were burnt alive. The special tribunal said that more than 80 witnesses testified, of which 54 were witnesses who survived the bloody protests. Sheikh Hasina also ordered helicopter and drone firing against the students. Removed from Dhaka and sent to India.
The protest of the students started against the specific quota for the people associated with the Awami League in the jobs, but soon this protest became very strong and it came to the point that the security forces of Bangladesh and the volunteers of the Awami League flowed like a riot in front of the students and people. Both Sheikh Hasina and Asad-ul-Zaman have fled Bangladesh. The Awami League has called for mass protests following the announcement of the verdict in this important case, but the students are very vigilant in monitoring the revolution they have brought about.
Pakistanis born in the fifties and sixties or earlier are well aware of how Bangladesh was formed, but those born later may not be fully aware. Sheikh Hasina’s father Sheikh Mujib, Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and General Yahya in Pakistan were very prominent in the roles of the fall of East Pakistan. The establishment of Pakistan is a great blessing of Allah. Whatever happened to the destruction of Pakistan, it did not end well. In the United Pakistan elections of 1970, the Awami League won all but two seats in East Pakistan.
The Pakistan People’s Party emerged as the majority party in West Pakistan at that time, but the Awami League had a clear advantage overall. General Yahya was convinced by his disciples that no single party would get a clear majority in the country, so the role of the general would be key and he would remain the president by manipulation. When the result of the election was completely contrary to the wishes of the general, the tactic of delaying the convening of the National Assembly session was used. So Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto threatened that the legs of any elected member from West Pakistan who would go to Dhaka to attend the meeting of the National Assembly would be broken.
Chaos and internal disturbances can have dire consequences for nations. Pakistan’s biggest problem is that India is its eternal enemy. India took advantage of Pakistan’s internal disturbances at that time. Prime Minister Indira Gandhi asked Army Chief Mankshaw to attack East Pakistan. Manksha asked for time. He brought Awami League workers from East Pakistan to India and prepared them for armed struggle, thus the Mukti Bahini Force came into being. Awami League leaders were given an office in Calcutta to establish the interim government-in-exile of Bangladesh. Meanwhile, the Pakistani military government was engaged in intrigues. The majority leader of West Pakistan, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, joined the army.
After full preparation, India invaded East Pakistan and very easily persuaded the Pakistani leadership to surrender. Thus, Bangladesh was created. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto came to power in West Pakistan and Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in East Pakistan. United Pakistan broke up and became two countries. Running a movement is one thing and fulfilling the aspirations of the people by coming to power and putting the country’s interest first is another thing. After coming to power, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman soon became tired of democracy and began to pretend to be a dictator. Bengal is a land of storms.
Climatic variations are severe here. Hurricanes often occur here and cause a lot of damage. Along with this, the heart and mind of the Bengali people are also boiling. The lava erupted against the growing dictatorship of Sheikh Mujib and one night he was killed along with his entire family. Only his two daughters survived. They were fortunately out of Bangladesh at that time. Among them was Sheikh Hasina.
The Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, took the credit for making Pakistan a country and provided popular support to her government. She became known as the Iron Lady of India for breaking East Pakistan from Pakistan. It is true that India played a key role in the separation of East Pakistan and the creation of Bangladesh. There was more or less a thousand kilometers between West and East Pakistan. India was in the middle. Indira Gandhi broke Pakistan, but she and her family met a terrible end. Younger son Sanjay Gandhi died soon after. Indira Gandhi was training him as her successor.
Sanjay was very fond of flying. One afternoon, he was flying when his plane broke down and swallowed his pilot, Sanjay Gandhi. Indira Gandhi was deeply shocked. After some time, Indira Gandhi herself was shot and killed by her Sikh bodyguards. After Indira Gandhi, her elder son Rajiv Gandhi took over the power, but a female suicide bomber touched his leg and killed Rajiv. In this way, Indira Gandhi herself and her children met a terrible end with the desire to break East Pakistan.
Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in his lust for power in West Pakistan at that time did not allow the central government to be formed because Sheikh Mujib was in the majority and the power could not be handed over to him. After East Pakistan became Bangladesh, the power was handed over to Bhutto Sahib. After a few years of rule, a revolution ended his rule. He was prosecuted for the murder of Nawab Muhammad Ahmad Khan and was hanged. General Yahya died a tragic death in anonymity. Sheikh Hasina is currently taking refuge in India, but if the decision of the Bangladesh court is implemented, then the family of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who participated in the breakup of Pakistan, will be exonerated. In the name of Allah.
