Karachi:

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that if the Canal project goes out of our hands then they will go out to protest.

Talking to the media, the Chief Minister made it clear that no plan would be approved against the interests of the people of Sindh and they are determined to stop the canal project. He said that Sindh is a province that goes along with every religion, every caste and every community.

Murad Ali Shah said that anyone had made the project, but the Sindh government did not allow it to be approved. There was no equal work on the canals, that too in July. If this matter goes out of our hands, we will go out to protest.

He said that he was not in doubt about his intention but was not playing in his hands. This is a collective purpose and we have to stop the Canal project as it is essential for the betterment of the country.

The Chief Minister said that the lawyers community has been a partner in the restoration of democracy, they are still with us. He praised the lawyers’ struggle against the canals and said that we are with them.

Murad Ali Shah said that the Sindh government did not take any action against the protesters. We welcome opposition parties and nationalist organizations. He appealed that the protest must be made but not hurt the people, do not close the roads. I guarantee that these canals will not be made.

Chief Minister Sindh asked why the federal government is not yet ending the project. The Finance Minister sent a letter on April 19 that Sindh should suggest its NFC representative, we are working on it. After 14 months, the federal government has sought representatives of the National Financial Commission.

Murad Ali Shah expressed concern over the condition of the farmers and said that the farmers of Punjab are also thinking of not growing wheat next year. In China, wheat production per acre is 60 to 65 min, we also have to adopt technology.

He added that we could not increase cotton production and now there is talk of settlement of the desert. Check out the results of the Indra Canal in India with Chat GPT. There is no extra water for the new canals. We will also withdraw this plan.

He hoped that the Prime Minister would respect the reservations of Sindh. He reminded that in the British era, the canal projects in the upper reaches were rejected in the interest of the lower areas. Finally, the Chief Minister said that I am hopeful that the Prime Minister will make a decision based on justice.
