There has been a significant development in the matter of protest by the transporters on Manghu Peer Northern Bypass in which the police have ended the protest after negotiations with the transporters.
According to details, the transporters staged a dharna in protest at Manghu Peer Northern Bypass due to which the incoming road was closed for traffic and long queues were formed.
However, after 7 hours of the protest, the police ended the protest after negotiating with the transporters and restored the flow of traffic. Transporter association officials and drivers staged a dharna at the Northern Bypass area of Manghu Peer in protest at 8 am on Saturday morning.
Officials of the transporters said that between Friday and Saturday at around two o’clock in the night, the customs officials fired at our vehicles and hurled sticks at the drivers.
He said that the customs officials broke the windows of 20 to 25 heavy vehicles. On receiving the order, the customs officials fired shots and charged with batons, the traffic has been closed since 8:00 in the morning and they will also close the Super Highway after an hour.
The transporters said that they will not end the protest without filing a case against those responsible.
On the other hand, SHO Mungho Pir Zubair Nawaz said that he and the DSP are negotiating with the protesters, the legitimate demands of the protesters will be accepted and illegal demands will not be accepted.
The ongoing negotiations between the police and the protestors were successful at twelve o’clock on the day, after which the Northern Bypass transporters ended the sit-in, while the incoming road was also opened for traffic, after which the flow of traffic was restored.
