According to Express News, Provincial Minister for Sports Faisal Ayub Khokhar, Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Ahmed Khan also attended the inauguration of the Champions Trophy at the Royal Fort Ground in Lahore.
Apart from PCB Chairman Advisor Aamir Mir and Wahab Riaz, the players of the national team who won the Champions Trophy in 2017 reached the royal fort.
Among the players, Sarfraz Ahmed, Junaid Khan, Hassan Ali, Azhar Ali, Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, Shadab Khan and Emad Wasim and Harris Sohail reached the Shahi fort. In addition, former South African batsman JP Duminy and Kiwi fast bowler Tim Southee also reached the royal fort.
Team Selector Asad Shafiq and former Test cricketer Wahab Riaz also attended the event, while Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi and ICC Chief Executive Jeff Eller Dice also attended the ceremony, which was welcomed by the PCB Chairman.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi said that Gaddafi Stadium was completed for the ICC Champions Trophy, it is a historic opportunity to have the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Champions Trophy 2025 held at the royal fort of Lahore, ICC Chief Executive Jeff Eldis said that for the next two weeks, the fans will see the best cricket.
He said that in the ICC Champions Trophy, Pakistan has the golden opportunity to show its madness from cricket. I have seen the Pakistan team win the Champions Trophy in the Oval.
Jeff Eldis said that Gaddafi Stadium and the National Stadium Karachi were happy to see the modern form, Gaddafi Stadium was a major achievement in 117 days.
