The role of Pakistani media in Pak -India tensions is commendable. The excellent and responsible manner that our media reports has improved Pakistan’s global reputation. Journalists have played an important role in our country’s history who deserve a tribute. I ask for the highest rank of journalists who sacrificed for freedom journalism. Punjab is a peaceful province, the lives of journalists here do not pose the dangers that are in other provinces.
What is happening in the name of journalism in modern times is a cause for concern for the media itself. We have to make it clear what journalism is and who is a journalist. Freedom is a right but not allowed hatred and humiliation in his name. Your choice and dislike cannot be named journalism. The media is also aware of the defects in the department, so if journalist organizations themselves distinguish between journalists and instrumentalists through self -accountability, our media dignity will be high globally. The dollar game has led to a storm of Fake News, propaganda and misconduct on digital media. Social media is actually a dollar media where the view is a game.
I am a victim of social media myself. Now Fake videos of the Chief Minister Punjab are being made which is regrettable. There is no room for any civilized society. With regard to the Pika Act, my journalistic community is gone, if the media and other stakeholders play their responsible role, we do not need legislation, the problems can be resolved together. It should be clear that social media cannot be left unattended in the name of freedom of expression, it has to be regulated. The government is working for the welfare of journalists. The Journalist Support Fund has been doubled on the directives of the Chief Minister Punjab, so health cards will be issued to journalists soon.
The Chief Minister’s own roof of Punjab has been plotted to 3200 journalists and media personnel under his own house project. The Chief Minister has approved it and will be approved by the cabinet soon. What is happening on social media is not acceptable to anyone, journalists are also victims of it. Journalist organizations should remove the media from the media, we have to say wrong then the country will be better, democracy will be strong and journalism will be improved. The government believes in freedom journalism. We are working to address the problems of media and journalists. The journalist community also agrees to remove the defects in the media, the government and the media will have to work together.

Journalism is the fourth pillar of the state and the role of academia is important in its strength. In 1941, the first department of journalism of the subcontinent was laid in the University of Punjab. The seminary has created renowned and major journalists of Pakistan, which are working to promote and promote journalism. Media work is not only to convey government actions and policies to the people but also to play the role of watchdog so that society and democracy can be served. At the same time, the voice of the media also conveys the voice of the people. In any civilized society, freedom of the media is important. The Constitution also gives the right to freedom of expression which strengthens democracy.
The role of the media is important for the development of democracy in Pakistan, we pay tribute to the sacrificial journalists. The government should not impose freedom of journalism, journalism is the fourth pillar of the media, its freedom is a guarantee of democracy. There are modern issues of modern era, which are different and new challenges are also faced. There is a fuck news, fake audios and video storm on all sides, no one is safe from its evil, so we have to promote fact checking mechanisms. There is also a tragedy that the number of influenians and velvers on social media without training is increasing rapidly, using social media platforms irresponsible. Citizens are important but it has some requirements, so we have to train young people.
Universities are playing their responsible role in dealing with modern challenges, teaching students special courses to integrate new requirements so that they can be made responsible citizens. Respect for the law is very important. We are teaching rules regarding the media at the BS and M.Phil level, they are also taught ethics.
We are also providing training to students in terms of modern sciences such as artificial intelligence, for which special training workshops and seminars are organized. Students are encouraged to educate artificial intelligence and positive use of social media. To me, media lottery is very important, it should be introduced at the school level. My department is providing children with public relations, advertising, journalism and modern sciences in Punjab University. We want to provide students with better education facilities with the help of public and private sector.

In the world, where there is talk of freedom of expression, there is talk of responsible journalism and the need for a media that is self -accountable. In the contemporary digital media is rapidly gaining over the traditional media, so it is very important to decide what its red line will be. Pakistan is a difficult country.
There are civil -military periods here. There are also distrust and reservations between the two, there are sanctions on the media and the media is falling. We have the media is not completely free, which is why we are at the lower level in terms of freedom of expression and media freedom in the world. The media is the fourth pillar of democracy, so without the freedom of the media, democracy cannot be strengthened. We also have media and social media issues, we have forgotten the difference between criticism and ridicule and are not keeping the values in mind.
Our social media has been criticized, ridiculed, mother -in -law is a freedom of freedom. Electronic media has faced challenges in early electronic media, now there is a lot of improvement. Print media is self -accountability and caution. There is a complete editorial check before publishing anything. On social media, just uploading the video by putting background music changes the meaning. The constitution, Pakistan, guarantees freedom of expression, national laws and code of conduct, but at the same time, all citizens are obliged to play a responsible role. Whoever violates the law will have action against it.
We also have the misuse of the rules. Even our governments are not accustomed to hearing criticism. We have democracy in the transitional phase, journalism has made sacrifices for the strengthening and stability of democracy. Journalists have lost a lot in the freedom of democracy, sanctions, violence and prisons. Journalists are still working today to promote freedom journalism and democracy. We must understand that the government and the media are not enemies of each other, but they have to move forward by recognizing each other’s role, removing reservations. The journalist community has reservations on the Packa Act. The government and the journalist community have to find a way through dialogue with each other. In order to strengthen democracy, the confidence between journalists and the government has to be restored.
It is worth mentioning here that those who make sacrifices and struggle for journalism and democracy do not have protection. Journalists are still economically weak today. Numerous institutions do not have the protection of their health, they also have salaries, the life of the cameraman is also on risk, the rights of journalists have to work. Journalists of big citizens also get privileges and protection, but journalists in the suburbs have no problem, they have to pay attention. We have had polarization in every sector for the past few years.
Our journalists have also fallen victim to it. In order to strengthen journalism, journalists will have to promote constitutional, legal, democratic and political systems, irrespective of parties. We have to balance to end the mistrust. We have to improve the issues related to dollar -based media, social media, in this regard, not only debit but also work in practice. For the promotion of journalistic values and journalistic development, all of them have to play their role together, including the government, the media, journalist organizations, academa, civil society.
