India-Taliban Relationship: The emerging friendship between India and the Taliban government of Afghanistan is creating a stir in Pakistan, while America and China are also keeping an eye on this development. Recently, India had openly criticized the air strike carried out by Pakistan in Khost province of Afghanistan, in which 50 people were killed. After this attack by Pakistan, the Indian Foreign Secretary met Taliban Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaki in Dubai. This was the first time that India openly supported the Taliban. They fear that the Taliban’s ties to Al Qaeda could destabilize the region. At the same time, China has invested heavily in this region under its BRI project and Taliban’s growing relations with India can jeopardize its geopolitical interests.
