Indian flagship ships ban entry into Pakistani ports

Karachi:

Pakistan has made an important decision in the wake of the recent maritime tensions with neighboring India, and immediately banned Indian flagship ships from entering Pakistani ports.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Navy, the decision to ban the entry of Indian flagship ships has been decided in keeping with Pakistan’s naval sovereignty, national security and economic interests.

The statement said that no Indian flagship will be anchored at any port of Pakistan, while Pakistani flagship ships will not go to any Indian port.

In this regard, it was stated that in a particular situation, the immunity will be decided on the individual basis in view of the nature of the matter.

The Ministry of Naval Affairs has immediately implemented these instructions following the approval of the relevant authority, and the decision is being described as a clear and strong expression of Pakistan’s naval policy in the backdrop of recent regional tensions.

It should be noted that Pakistani authorities have made this decision in response to India’s ban on Pakistani flagship ships, India has also suspended communication contacts with shipping.

The shipping links between the two countries were under the Indo-Packet Shipping Protocol, which was set in 2006, under which the protocol also provided emergency technical assistance to each other’s ships and the fishermen from both countries continued to be exchanged.
