India’s biggest flop, removed from theaters in 15 minutes

The film ‘Zakhmi Insan’ released in 1982 is considered one of the biggest failures of Indian cinema.

The film was directed by Deepak Balraj Vijay, starring Shakti Kapoor as the lead hero for the first time and starring Rita Bhadri, Aruna Irani and others. However, the film was pulled from theaters just 15 minutes after its release, becoming a world record.

Shakti Kapoor, who recently appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show, talked about this interesting and unsuccessful turn in her career. He said: “I thought the time had come for me to become a hero, and accepted the lead role in ‘Zakhmi Insaan’. But the film injured the producer, director, and audience alike. The film released at 12 p.m. and removed at 12:15.”

Shakti Kapoor further stated that she had turned down several villain roles before the film’s release, but had to reapply for the same roles after the film’s failure. This film was the first and last film of his career in which he played the lead role.

Shakti Kapoor’s career spanned more than three decades, in which she acted in more than 700 films. In recent years, he acted in a small role in the 2023 blockbuster film ‘Enmal’, which also starred Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Rashmika Mandana. The film managed to earn over Rs 900 crore at the box office.
