
Israel-Hamas ceasefire: The Israeli Cabinet has passed the proposed ceasefire deal with Hamas in Gaza. At present the first phase of ceasefire will be implemented. If the initial days of this phase give good results then the talk of the second phase will move forward.
This first phase of ceasefire will start from 19 January i.e. this Sunday. This deal between Israel and Hamas has been possible with the help of Qatar, Egypt and America. - The first phase of ceasefire will be for a total of 42 days. During this period, Hamas fighters will release 33 Israeli hostages. These will include women, children and elderly people. Some sick and injured hostages will also be involved.
- 737 prisoners will be released from Israel. Men, women and children will all live in them. They will be released only after 4 pm on Sunday.
- Three points have been made to release the hostages and prisoners. These points will be in Kerim Shalom, Erez and Reem. Doctors and mental health experts will be present here who will examine the people who are to be released.
- In these 42 days, the Israeli army will gradually start withdrawing from the densely populated areas of Gaza. Only after the army withdraws from these areas, the residents here will be able to return to their homes again.
- Israeli troops will not completely withdraw from Gaza until all Israeli hostages are freed.
- Negotiations for the second phase will proceed from the 16th day of the first phase of ceasefire.
There has been a war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza for the last 15 months. On October 7, 2023, Israel had declared war after thousands of lives were lost in a surprise attack by Hamas. More than 45 thousand deaths are estimated in this war.
