Israel Hamas gaza ceasefire deal Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on list of list of hostages

Israel-Hamas ceasefire: Just before the 42-day ceasefire between Israel and Hamas starting today, an important statement from Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has come. This statement has brought a cloud of apprehension over the ceasefire.

Actually, during this 6-week ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, hostages and prisoners are to be released. While Hamas will release the Israeli hostages, Israel will have to release the prisoners. But Benjamin Netanyahu has now clearly said that until Israel gets the complete list of its hostages to be released, there can be no question of a ceasefire.

Netanyahu wrote in a post on Twitter, ‘We will not move forward on a ceasefire agreement until we receive the complete list of hostages to be released. This had already been decided. Israel will not tolerate violations of any part of this agreement. It is the responsibility of Hamas to fully comply with the agreement.

The first phase of ceasefire will start from this evening
The first phase of ceasefire will be for a total of 42 days. During this period, Hamas fighters will release 33 out of 98 Israeli hostages. 737 prisoners will be released from Israel. Three points have been made for exchange of hostages and prisoners. These points will be in Kerim Shalom, Erez and Reem. Doctors and mental health experts will be present here who will examine the people who are to be released.

According to the agreement, in these 42 days the Israeli army will gradually start withdrawing from the densely populated areas of Gaza. Only after the army withdraws from these areas, the residents here will be able to return to their homes again. Israeli troops will not completely withdraw from Gaza until all Israeli hostages are freed. Negotiations for the second phase will proceed from the 16th day of the first phase of ceasefire.

More than 47 thousand deaths
There has been a war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza for the last 15 months. Israel had declared war on October 7, 2023, after Hamas lost more than 1200 lives in a surprise attack. It is estimated that 46,000 people living in Gaza were killed in the Israeli attack.
