According to CNN report, Gaza Civil Defense Agency spokesman Mahmoud Bassal issued a press release on Thursday (January 16), saying, “86 people were killed in Israeli strikes after the ceasefire agreement was announced on Wednesday (January 15). And 258 have been injured. “This is the largest figure so far in the period immediately after the announcement of ceasefire.”

The agency spokesperson further said, “23 children have also died in Israeli attacks. At the same time, 25 women were also included. At the same time, Israeli Defense Forces said on Thursday (January 16), “Today the Israeli Army has attacked about 50 terrorist positions in the Gaza Strip.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “A ceasefire agreement has been agreed for the return of people held hostage by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.” He said, “We will call a meeting of the Security Cabinet on Friday (January 17, 2025) to approve the agreement and then the government will approve the agreement.”

It is noteworthy that Israel had postponed the cabinet vote on Thursday (January 16) on the long-awaited ceasefire agreement to stop the ongoing fierce war between Israel and Hamas.
