Jaya Bachchan is also a popular Bollywood actress and political leader and she is in the news sometimes for controversial statements, be it in the film industry or politics, and one such statement she made on marriage advice to her granddaughter-in-law Navel Nanda.
According to Indian media reports, Jaya Bachchan, during an interview at the Vee Da Women event, said to a question that the concept of marriage is outdated in today’s times and also suggested that her granddaughter-in-law Navel Nanda, who will turn 28 in a week, should not get married.
He said that today’s young women know how to raise children better and today’s children are becoming more intelligent than ever.
Jaya Bachchan said that she feels that marriage is an old concept and she does not want her granddaughter-in-law Naveli Nanda to get married.
According to the report, when Jaya Bachchan was asked about the legality of the marriage, she said nonchalantly, ‘Just enjoy life’. At the same time, she was asked if she would mind if her granddaughter Navya Nanda quits her career after marriage, like her, and she replied, ‘I don’t want Navya to get married.’
Asked to explain why she thinks marriage is an old concept, Jaya Bachchan claimed that today’s children can outdo others in everything, for them marriage is like a sweet dish and likened marriage to Delhi laddoos, saying ‘If you eat it, you will be in trouble and if you don’t, you will regret it’.
It should be noted that 27-year-old Navia Naveli Nanda founded a tech platform called Aara Health, she is the granddaughter of Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan and niece of Abhishek, her brother Agastya Nanda entered the world of acting a year ago.
Navya Naveli Nanda’s father Nikhil Nanda hails from Delhi and is an industrialist, Navya graduated from USA in 2020 and is doing MBA from a university in India.
