Jordan’s King Abdullah II visited Qatar on Tuesday. 

Abdullah met with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha to debate “deep-rooted bilateral relations” as well as regional and international developments, Jordan’s official Petra news agency reported

Qatar and Jordan also signed an agreement to waive visa requirements between the two countries for diplomatic passport holders, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release. The two monarchies likewise signed a memorandum of understanding regarding investment, according to the official Qatar News Agency. 

Jordan sided with Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain in their dispute with Qatar, and likewise severed relations, in 2017. Jordan and Qatar reappointed their ambassadors in 2019. Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE and Bahrain did not reconcile with Qatar till January 2021, on the GCC Summit in Saudi Arabia.
