Jordan’s nationwide fund – Himmat Watan – has gathered a complete of $131.1 million (93.5 million Jordanian Dinars) since its launch on March, the state information company has reported.
The fund was established within the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, and the contributions have been distributed to a number of charity organizations.
Jamal Sarayrah, the deputy chairman of the committee assigned to supervise the fund, stated the distribution of help “is being robustly monitored,” including greater than 250,000 households have already been given help.
Global accounting agency EY has been employed to audit the accounts, Sarayrah stated.
The fund continues to obtain contributions at a Central Bank of Jordan account.
