Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, made a high-profile return to Los Angeles on Friday, driving his all-chrome Mercedes-Maybach through the city before heading to A$AP Rocky’s home.
The 47-year-old rapper, who had been seen with the luxury vehicle late last year, was photographed cruising around the city before making his way to show support for his fellow rapper, who is currently in the middle of a high-profile assault trial.
However, West’s drive quickly became a point of frustration for other drivers. Photos captured by onlookers show that West’s bodyguards created a traffic jam on Sunset Boulevard by blocking two lanes to allow the rapper to drive without interference. The bodyguards positioned their SUVs next to each other, preventing other vehicles from passing for over a minute, leaving drivers stuck in an unnecessary delay.
Once he arrived at A$AP Rocky’s residence, West spent much of the evening with his friend, offering his support as Rocky faces felony charges for assault with a firearm. West’s LA visit follows his recent return from Japan with his wife, Bianca Censori. While in the city, West was also seen with his manager, John Monopoly, and even stopped by a studio in West Hollywood, sparking rumors that he might be working on new music.
