Karachi:
On the instructions of Senior Minister Sharjeel Aam Memon, the Department of Transport crackdown against violations of traffic laws, 1,856 vehicles challan, 88 drivers were arrested.
A total of Rs 3,132,020 was fined, 192 cases of careless and negligent driving, 54 vehicles operated without a route permit, while 49 vehicles did not have a fitness certificate, the Road Checking Committee conducted 4,106 vehicles, 195 vehicles.
The condition of 98 vehicles found without a driving license without a driving license was found badly, during the operations, the fitness certificates of 64 vehicles were rejected.
Senior Minister Sharjeel Aamiz Memon said that ensuring road safety and strict implementation of transport laws is our top priority, irresponsible driving and faulty vehicles are a threat to the lives of the public, action will continue to eliminate traffic laws violations.
He said the transport operators would have to follow the rules otherwise they would be ready for legal action.
