KARACHI: ‘Memorial Martyrs’ of Shaheed Fire Brigade personnel inaugurates

Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has said that our brave firefighters are proud of the nation who not only save lives but also illuminate the lamp of hope, we are proud of the services of our firefighters ready every moment, the motivation and passion of the firefighters is the flame for every human being.

He expressed these views while talking to media representatives at a ceremony held on Monday after inaugurating the ‘memorial martyrs’ of the fire brigade personnel who were martyred at the headquarters of the fire brigade.

Mayor Karachi prayed for the martyrdom of martyrs at ‘Memorial Martyrs’ at the KMC Fire Brigade Headquarters and distributed shields to the relatives of the martyr firefighters.

Deputy Parliamentary Leader Dil Muhammad, UC Chairman, Business Leader Atiq Mirawar and others were also present at the KMC Council.

Addressing the ceremony, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said, “We are standing with our firefighters.” Our firefighters are the brave young men who face all the difficulties while working with great courage, in fact they are the silent heroes who endanger their lives to save the lives of others.

He said that in the very difficult moments, these young men who fight the fire are our true guards, the motivation of these heroes fills the lives of nations. We salute the spirit, enthusiasm and excitement of our firefighters.

He hoped that KMC’s Firefighters would always continue to work in the same way and we would remember the Firefighters as a hero as a living nation. We must thank the heirs who are ready for every moment. Firefighters play a major role in protecting the lives and property of the people for which I will be grateful to them.

Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab said that the first martyr of the fire brigade in Municipality of Karachi was in 1955, so far 34 of our firefighters have been martyred while performing their duties. It should be prayed that this city, this province and Pakistan have always been safe.

Murtaza Wahab said that when I was the administrator, the council had approved the ban on plastic bags, some people went to court against the decision, we spoke to the Chief Minister Sindh on the matter.

He said plastic bags will be banned in the city from June 15 as the use of plastic bags is not environmentally friendly.

Mayor Karachi said that cleanliness will start regularly from June, rural lands on the coastal belt are ours. It was hoped that it would rain today.

“When you say federal, talk of the federation, we can disagree with the federal government,” he said. The advertisement given by KPT is not correct. The lines under the Water Corporation in Karachi are fixing the lines, work is underway to improve the old infrastructure.
