Karachi University… Dress Code Post – Express Urdu

Karachi University administration has issued instructions regarding students’ clothing. According to a post by Assistant Professor Noshin Raza, Advisor to Student Affairs, students should wear clean clothes at the university, do not wear provocative, hateful or misleading clothes. The post states that the university should not wear clothes that show the body. Do not use tight clothes, objectionable prints or graphic fabrics. Students do not even wear ordinary slippers. Karachi University Advisor Students must have issued this directive on the instructions of the Vice Chancellor.

In this post, the students were not only instructed to wear, nor do students or students were discriminated against, but the text of the post shows that the students’ clothing has been pointed out. Karachi University has received any instructions regarding the students’ dress code years later. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa universities, especially in several universities in Punjab, students have been issued instructions about not wearing or wearing specific clothing.

The banned Tehreek -e -Taliban Pakistan has a profound impact in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pashtun areas of Balochistan. You are aware of the fact that the Taliban are not in favor of women’s education. After the establishment of the Taliban government in Afghanistan, women’s education has been banned. Taliban thinking holds important positions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. There are regressive restrictions on students’ clothing in universities, which are condemned worldwide.

Years later at Karachi University, the issuance of a dress code raises many questions. A negative campaign on women’s lives and women’s clothing has always been going on in the country. When martial law was imposed in the country in the last years of the 50s and General Ayub Khan took power, All India Muslim League leader Dr Ishtiaq Hussain Qureshi was appointed Vice -Chancellor of Karachi University.

Dr. Ishtiaq Hussain Qureshi appointed Major Aftab as the promoter of Karachi University. Major Aftab was previously the principal of Urdu College. He tried unsuccessfully to expel Maulvi Abdul Haq from the Association for Development Urdu and Urdu College. At that time, students in Karachi were particularly active in the movements against General Ayub Khan’s dictatorship. The activities of the Left Student Students’ National Students Federation were a cause for concern for the Karachi University administration. During this period, Hussein Naqi, a leading journalist and a prominent human rights activist, who was the elected president of the Students’ Union, was fired from the university and the NSF -affiliated students were subjected to retaliation.

At that time, Major Aftab came to the idea of raising the morality of the students. He issued a post that a 3 -foot distance between students and students is necessary. The study of newspapers files suggests that Major Aftab used to walk in university transit routes to ensure the distance between students and students. They were doing their own services by ensuring the distance between the students and the students. During the reign of General Yahya Khan, Dr Ishtiaq Hussain Qureshi was retired and after the first government of the PPP, Major Aftab was sent on leave from the university and the right -wing student organization established a thunder squad.

Its basic duty was to raise the moral standards of the students, but now the real purpose of the squad was to punish its ideological opponents, thus the Thunder squad became a metaphor. Some former students in the Thunder squad acknowledge their mistakes in private concerts, but the tragedy is that Karachi University’s education standards have not been paid attention. The University of Karachi has been in the throes of the reactionary administration since its inception, so the enrollment of enlightened teachers should be closed. Professor Karar Hussain, the leading English teacher, the great critic of Urdu, Prof. Mumtaz Hussain, expert Political Scientist Dr. Hassan, Prof. Jamal Naqvi and many prominent enlightened teachers were not given the opportunity to teach at the university.

Senior teachers say that the curriculum of social sciences is not improved in accordance with modern requirements like modern universities in the world, but also in science subjects, especially in the ideology of Darwin’s evolution in biological sciences. Accordingly, the teaching was not taught and the students were removed from scientific thinking by teaching non -scientific ideas. So far, the department of music and arts at Karachi University has not been able to grow. The Department of Visual Studies at Karachi University could not be established in the last century. The University of Karachi was constantly suffering from financial crisis, which resulted in teaching and research activities badly affected.

Researchers say the quality of research at Karachi University is very low. The procedure that is practiced in other universities of the country to examine MS and PhD articles is not yet conceptualized at the University of Karachi. A researcher of social sciences says that the topics of MS and PhDs of Islamic sciences, trade, economics and business ideology should be reviewed only that many students made a specific religious theory in all these articles their subject. Is

Scientists like Dr. Saleem Zaman Siddiqui were ever present at the University of Karachi, but now there is no such expert. The standard of academic freedom at Karachi University has become so weak that Dr. Riaz, who is struggling for teachers and the retirement of scholarly freedom, has not been allowed to receive them.

The University of Karachi was developed by a French architect. When Karachi University’s campus was developed, a beautiful campus was called, but under the map of the university, there were no construction at the university and the old buildings of the university were disturbed. Karachi University’s Dr Mahmood Hussain Library was one of the best libraries in the country. The library had a collection of papers of the All India Muslim League with rare books. At one time, experts from various universities of the country, as well as experts from India and Europe, used to come to Dr. Mahmood Hussein Library for research material, but over time, Dr. Mahmood Hussain Library is suffering.

No book has been purchased for this library for the past fifteen years. There is no arrangement to preserve the library books and the condition of many of the library rooms is extremely disturbed.

Teachers repeatedly say that different buildings of the university are devastating. The roofs of some blocks in the fields of applied chemistry, biology, geology have dropped several times. The university budget allocates a lot of money for repair every year but there is no improvement. For the teaching of English, Urdu and study Pakistan, part -time teachers are appointed at Rs 480 per period. Last year, English could not be taught in 22 fields. The tragedy is that the university administration is paying more attention to the measures rather than improving the quality of education.
