Kerala governor gives prayers at Mahakal temple in MP’s Ujjain

Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Saturday morning provided prayers on the well-known Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, an official stated.

Khan visited the temple through the ‘Bhog Aarti’ of the Mahakal, stated Ganesh Dhakad, administrator, Mahakaleshwar Temple, in an announcement.

The temple devoted to Lord Shiva is likely one of the 12 ‘Jyotirlingas’ within the nation which attracts numerous devotees.

Dhakad stated clergymen carried out puja as per rituals whereas Khan provided prayers standing behind barricades as per the Covid-19 tips.

The governor was welcomed by officers with the headband of the temple.

Khan left the temple after 40 minutes, in keeping with Dhakad.

Earlier this month, the native administration determined to ban the entry within the sanctum sanctorum of the temple given the spike in coronavirus instances in Madhya Pradesh.
