Pakistan Champions Trophy 2025: Pakistan Defense Minister Khwaja Asif has given a strict warning against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against any protest movement during the upcoming Champions Trophy. He said that no interaction or surrender will be done on matters related to the integrity, defense, respect and prestige of the country.

PTI has planned to start protest rallies against allegations of rigging in the general election last year. This decision was taken after the party ended the talks with the government, in which PTI had questioned the fairness of the 2024 elections. However, Khwaja Asif said that everyone has the right to protest, but PTI’s opposition usually becomes violent, which threatens law and order.

Referring to the incident of 9 May
Asif also mentioned the incident of May 9, which he described as a rebellion. He said that on this day PTI has crossed its limits and the government has dealt with this matter strictly. He also said that some elements were being benefited from the steps taken against smuggling in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

PTI leaders arrest
Many PTI leaders and activists were arrested in Multan and Muzaffarabad for violating Section 144, while some workers escaped from the police.

Government achievements
Asif also mentioned the achievements of the government, including the reduction in interest rate and inflation and restoration of PIA flights to Europe. He said that the government is also taking steps to control terrorism.
