Local government representatives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) will protest in front of Adiala Jail and Parliament tomorrow against the unfair distribution of funds by the provincial government and a dharna will begin in Peshawar on December 26 and will continue until the demands are met.
According to Express News, governors of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cities said that they will protest in front of Adiala Jail tomorrow morning and Parliament in the afternoon.
According to Coordinator Local Councils Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Intar Ali Khalil, a peaceful protest movement is being started for a strong, stable and functional local government system and against discrimination against local governments by the provincial government.
He said that local council representatives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province have protested several times under the leadership of Local Councils Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Negotiations have also been held, but the demands are not implemented, which is a proof of the lack of interest of the provincial government. .
He said that the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province demands justice from the federal government, but despite three years of the recent local elections, it has neither given powers nor provided funds to local government representatives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. It is a violation of the law and the constitution and a failed attempt to wall off local governments.
