LAHORE: In view of the current spike in COVID-19 circumstances amid the fourth wave of the pandemic, the Punjab authorities has imposed a lockdown in Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi and Faisalabad on Tuesday.

The lockdown has been imposed from Tuesday, August Three and can stay in impact until August 31, based on a notification issued by the provincial authorities.

It is pertinent to say right here that the choice to re-impose restrictions was taken by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) after reviewing the worsening state of affairs of the pandemic within the nation.

As per the Punjab authorities’s notification, market/enterprise actions might be allowed to function until 08:00 pm.

Takeaways and e-commerce/Courier/Postal companies and utility companies (Electricity, Natural Gas, Internet, Cellular Networks/Telecom, Call Centers, Media). Auto workshops, Oil Depots and all Kinds of Mandis together with grain, fruit, cattle and vegetable markets.

Closed days

All enterprise and business actions will stay closed on Saturdays and Sundays, as these might be noticed as “closed days”. However, exemptions for the closed days are:

Pharmacies/Medical shops, Medical Facilities and Vaccination Centers, Petrol Pumps. Tandoors, Bakeries, Grocery / Karyana shops, Milk / Dairy Shops, Sweet Shops. Vegetable / Fruit Shops, Chicken / Meot Shops, Food (24 hours a i. Takeaways and E-commerce / Courier / Postal day) Services & Utility Services (Electricity, Natural Gas, Internet, Cellular Networks / Telecom, Coll Centers. Media). Auto workshops. Oil Depots and all types of mandis together with grain, fruit, cattle and vegetable mandis

The Punjab authorities has banned indoor eating in its order, nonetheless, outside eating has been allowed until 10pm. The provincial authorities has allowed eating places to offer prospects with the takeaway service 24 hours a day

Weddings/Functions

Indoor weddings shall be banned w.e.f. August 8, 2021. Outdoor weddings shall be allowed with most 400 friends underneath strict COVID protocols.

Timings for outside weddings shall be until 10:00pm.

Shrines

The Punjab authorities has ordered full closure of shrines within the cities.

Cinemas

There shall be full closure of cinemas.

Gatherings

A ban has been imposed on all sorts of indoor gatherings together with cultural, musical/non secular/miscellaneous occasions. However, outside gatherings shall be allowed for a most 400 people underneath strict COVID protocols.

Sports

There shall be full ban on contact sports activities, which embrace (Karate, Boxing, Martial Arts, Rugby, Water Polo, Kabaddi & Wrestling).

All gyms shall stay open just for vaccinated people/members.

Office Hours

Normal workplace working hours for public/personal places of work shall proceed. However, attendance degree is lowered from 100% to 50%.

Public Transport

Maximum occupancy degree of public transport has been lowered from 70% to 50%. Ban has now been imposed on all sorts of snacks being served to passengers through the journey by the transport companies.

Railways

Amusement parks

New restrictions

The notification was issued after Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar on Monday introduced some new restrictions in main cities of Pakistan in view of the rising variety of coronavirus circumstances within the nation.

Holding a press convention in Islamabad on Monday, alongside Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan, the minister had stated that every one the choices have been taken after the approval of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The minister had stated that the brand new coronavirus restrictions will come into impact from Aug Three and can stay in place till Aug 31.
