
Indian Origin Woman Found Dead in London : The body of Harshita Brela, a 24-year-old Indian-origin woman, was found in the trunk of a car in Corby, London. The police is continuously taking action in the case of a dead body found in the trunk of a car on November 14. Meanwhile, a big statement from the mother of the deceased woman has come to light.
In an interview given to BBC, Harshita Brela’s mother Sudesh Kumari told that she had talked to her daughter a few weeks before her death. The daughter told her mother that her husband was ruining her life. Sudesh told that the daughter had told me, “I will not go back to him, he will kill me.” He said, “My daughter was very calm and innocent. She didn’t quarrel with anyone.”
Satbir Brela is suffering since Harshita’s death.
Harshita’s father Satbir Brela said that his family is suffering after this tragic incident. He has demanded justice for his daughter. He said, “I always told my daughter that when I die, you should perform my last rites. But I had no idea that I would have to perform the last rites of my daughter.”
“Lamba is still in India but Delhi Police is not agreeing.”
Harshita’s family believes that their daughter’s husband Pankaj Lamba is still in India. But they say that Delhi Police is not listening to them. However, Delhi Police told BBC that the UK authorities have not yet made any demand to them to intervene in this matter.
Harshita’s parents claimed
Harshita’s family also told that Harshita had suffered a miscarriage a few weeks before her death. He claimed that he was told that Pankaj Lamba had killed Harshita. But it became completely clear when Harshita called her father on August 29 and said crying, “My husband beat me very badly. He even beat me on the road.” Harshita’s father said, “My daughter was crying very loudly.”
Harshita had filed a report of domestic violence
According to reports, Harshita had filed a domestic violence report with the police in August and Pankaj Lamba was also arrested on September 3, but he was granted bail with conditions and a domestic violence protection order was also imposed.
IOPC Investigating Harshita’s death
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has said it will investigate Northamptonshire Police’s contacts with Harshita, while an international extradition has been issued for Lamba. Initial investigation revealed that the preliminary cause of Harshita’s death was “strangulation by hand”, although toxicology and histology reports are still awaited.
