Mayor Karachi orders digitalization of development projects

Karachi:

Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab issued instructions to bring them to a digital map to ensure transparency and public access to the ongoing development schemes.

A high level meeting held at the Karachi Mayor Office reviewed the performance of the engineering department where Director General Technical Services Tariq Mughal briefed the meeting.

Tariq Mughal said that so far 219 development schemes have been completed, more schemes will be completed before June 30, about Rs 2.5 billion worth of projects are underway and tenders have been issued for them.

Mayor Karachi directed that all ongoing projects be updated on Google Map so that citizens could be informed, avoid traffic problems and witness progress through technology.

He called for the schemes to be completed in a timely manner and said that strict action would be taken in the event of a delay.

The meeting was attended by Municipal Commissioner SM Afzal Zaidi, Financial Advisor Gulzar Abro, DG Parks Akhlaq Yousafzai, Director Media Daniel Sial and other senior officers.
