‘Metro Man’ E Sreedharan quits lively politics

Months after the BJP misplaced the meeting polls in Kerala, E Sreedharan, popularly often called Metro Man, on Thursday introduced that he was quitting from lively politics.

“Though I am quitting active politics, it doesn’t mean that I am completely leaving politics,” Sreedharan was quoted as saying by Mathrubhumi.

“I am 90 years old. Entering politics at this age is still a dangerous game. I had a good hope when I first entered politics. Currently, there is no passion left for me in active politics,” he stated.

He additional stated that he “was never a politician” as he’s a bureaucrat.

Sreedharan was the BJP’s candidate from Palakkad constituency within the Kerala meeting election held earlier this yr. However, the saffron celebration, which contested from 113 seats, drew a clean.

The eminent engineer, identified for helming big-ticket infra tasks like Konkan Railway and Delhi Metro, had joined the BJP in Kerala forward of elections. At 88, he was one of many oldest candidates.
