Military transport airplane crashes in Russia

Several crew members have been killed after a transport plane crashed on Friday morning near the town of Ryazan in central Russia, some 200 kilometers southeast of Moscow.

Multiple footage and movies circulating on social media indicated the crashed jet was an Ilyushin Il-76, and the Russian Defense Ministry later confirmed it was a army flight.

“During a training flight, without cargo, an engine malfunction forced the crew to perform an emergency landing on rough ground,” the ministry stated, including that the plane “partially” fell aside upon touching the bottom.

The army have but to substantiate the variety of victims, however preliminary experiences indicated there have been 9 or 10 individuals on board. At least two of them died whereas six survivors have been rushed to native hospitals, in accordance with Russian media experiences citing emergency providers.

There have been no experiences of accidents or harm to infrastructure on the bottom, because the airplane apparently went down in a discipline near a freeway. The blaze was swiftly introduced underneath management as a number of hearth crews and ambulances have been seen responding to the crash.

Some unconfirmed experiences alleged that the airplane crashed and caught hearth quickly after takeoff from Ryazan, the place it had made a stopover for refueling en route from the town of Orenburg, near the border with Kazakhstan, to the town of Belgorod located alongside the Ukrainian border. The Baza telegram channel reported that one of many jet’s engines was on hearth earlier than it tried an emergency touchdown.
