Bangladesh News: Bangladesh Police has arrested the youth who were spreading rumors of Dr. Mohammad Yunus’s resignation and escape on the social media platform Facebook. Police arrested these youth when they were preparing to attack the houses of BNP-Jamaat leaders. 

The arrested youth have been identified as Ibrahim Khalil alias Russell and Golam Kibria alias Liton. The accused will be presented in Noakhali Chief Judicial Magistrate Court. Earlier, he was detained from Bansa Bazaar of Mohammadpur Union at around 8 pm on Friday night. 

Tension had arisen in the area

According to police and local people, after hearing the rumor of resignation of Chief Advisor Dr. Yunus on Facebook, a group of Jubo League workers demonstrated in Bansa Bazaar of Mohammadpur Union on Friday evening, creating tension in the area. As soon as the news was received, the police reached the spot and with the help of local people arrested both the persons and brought them to the police station.
Russell is a member of Mohammadpur Union Jubo League, while Liton is associated with the local Awami League. 

Police gave information about the case

Confirming the incident, Chatkhil police station officer-in-charge (OC) Firoz Uddin Chaudhary said: "Hearing the news of the demonstration of 25-30 Awami League workers, the police went to the spot. Later, with the help of local people, two people were taken into custody and brought to the police station. A case is being registered in connection with the incident and he will be arrested in the case and produced in the Noakhali Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Saturday afternoon."
