More than 2,000 cases of payment to two mothers for the same child under Benazir Income report

Islamabad:

The Public Accounts Committee meeting revealed payments to two mothers for the same child under the Benazir Income Support Program.

The meeting of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament, chaired by Junaid Akbar Khan, reviewed the audit objection to paying two mothers for a child.

The audit briefing stated that 2,312 cases of payment were reported to two mothers for the same child, in which Benazir Income was paid Rs. 10 million.

The Auditor General of Pakistan said that the money was given to the children in cash under educational scholarships.

According to the audit briefing, various mothers were attached to the same child’s form, the audit was dubious and irregular to pay the funds.

The Public Accounts Committee has again directed the DAC to deal with the matter.
