Romania’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Dan Stovenescu, emphasized on strengthening economic cooperation and cultural exchange between Pakistan and Romania, saying that 60 years of strong diplomatic relations between the two countries have been completed.
He said this while talking to the delegation consisting of Chairman of Pakistan Romania Business Council Sohail Shamim Farpo and adviser of the council Atif Farooqui.
The Ambassador of Romania acknowledged the 14-year services of Pak-Romania Business Council for the promotion of mutual trade and cooperation and said that if the Council continues its efforts in the same way, it is possible to increase the mutual trade between the two countries many times.
In this regard, the Embassy of Romania will cooperate with the Council at all levels.
On this occasion, Chairman of Pakistan-Romania Business Council Sohail Shamim Farpo said that Romania has joined the list of Schengen countries from April 1, 2024, after which the Romanian gate for Pakistani businessmen and industrialists to access the markets of the remaining 30 countries of the European Union. Way has become.
He said that at present the volume of mutual trade between the two countries is 450 million dollars and the Romanian market is a major consumer of Pakistani betel nut Omasum, dried processed intestines, bitter fruit peels, surgical instruments, leather garments and textile products. There are possibilities.
He said that the new ambassador of Romania appointed in Pakistan is fluent in 8 languages and he is also learning Urdu now.
The Council is planning to promote Romanian language in Pakistan and Urdu in Romania. The promotion of each other’s languages in both the countries will facilitate opportunities to increase mutual trade manifold.
