MURREE: The metropolis district administration on Friday night determined to ban entry of autos within the metropolis after declaring an emergency amid heavy snowfall and vacationers’ rush within the hill station.

According to a press release from the Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner (DC), as a consequence of steady heavy snowfall in Murree, it has been determined to shut the doorway to cope with the emergency state of affairs.

“District administration and police have been mobilised to evacuate those trapped in traffic,” the  DC  mentioned.

In view of the emergency climate state of affairs in Murree, a management room has been established within the workplace of  DC Rawalpindi for monitoring and mitigation functions.

Rawalpindi Police chief, Sajid Kiani, mentioned that site visitors is being diverted from toll plazas and entrances whereas roads are open for exit from Murree.

“Tourists should take extra precautions amid extreme weather situation,” he mentioned.

Meanwhile, Minister for Interior Sheikh Rasheed on Friday night requested vacationers, particularly households, to keep away from travelling to Murree and Galiyat.

Rasheed mentioned that greater than 100,000 autos have already entered Murree as a consequence of which the move of site visitors is extraordinarily gradual.

He mentioned that Islamabad and Murree administrations are working to facilitate vacationers around the clock.
