New Ad Shows Texas Gov Is Far From Only Republican To Make Offensive Comments About Rape

Progressive PAC MeidasTouch urges voters to always remember the offensive issues Republicans have stated about rape in a brand new video that’s gone viral on Twitter.

The clip resurfaces previous feedback from GOP candidates, state representatives and nationwide lawmakers, together with 2012 and 2016 presidential candidate Rick Santorum and white nationalist former Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa).

Santorum says victims of rape “should make the best of a bad situation” in previous footage featured within the video.

King asks if it have been “not for rape and incest, would there be any population left?”

The spot was launched Tuesday within the wake of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s (R) broadly criticized protection of his state’s six-week abortion ban, wherein he dismissed considerations that victims of rape and incest at the moment are compelled to hold their infants to full time period.

The clip has garnered greater than 700,000 views on Twitter. The influence such partisan spots have on swaying swing voters is unsure.
