The administration of the Benazir Income Support Program dismissed the news of the identification of financial irregularities in the audit report, saying that some points of the audit report were misrepresented.

According to Express News, a spokesman for the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has issued a statement in which he said that the Benazir Income Support Program is strictly committed to the principles of transparency and accountability, in recent days a report has been reported in a report of misconduct.

The statement said that it is important to understand that the audit of all government agencies by the Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) is part of the routine. Initial audit observations are of preliminary and they are considered in several stages, including the Department of Acquisition Committee (DAC).

The statement said that where these points are resolved through clarification, correction or improvement in procedures, strict monitoring is taken to ensure the implementation of DAC recommendations so that financial discipline can be maintained.

The statement further said that the audit and inspection report on the accounts of the BISP fiscal year 2023-24 was considered under the same procedure, under the same procedure, on December 24, 2024 and 21 January 2025, a detailed review of the records where the BISP was reviewed and the BISP received the necessary records. The objections were removed.

According to the declaration, some recommendations are underway, including further improvement of the procedure, data implementation and necessary amendments to the policy, so it is clear that BISP is committed to ensuring transparency and accountability in financial issues and is working with the relevant caretaker agencies to work together to make it more effective.
