Chinmoy Krishna Das Bail Plea Latest News: ISKCON priest Chinmoy Krishna Das, arrested on charges of treason in Bangladesh, will have to remain in jail for a month. Bangladesh court has postponed the hearing on his bail plea till next month. Actually, the bail petition was to be heard on Tuesday (3 December 2024), but no lawyer appeared in the court for the hearing.
Earlier, ISKCON had claimed that a Bangladeshi lawyer defending Chinmoy Krishna Das was attacked by Islamic fundamentalists and seriously injured. He is in ICU. After this attack, the lawyers refused to appear during the bail hearing on Tuesday, after which the Chittagong court adjourned the hearing. The court has fixed the next date of hearing as January 2, 2025.
