Nigeria, hundreds of students and teachers were kidnapped, the president imposed emergency in the country

LAGOS:

President Bola Tinubu has declared a national security emergency in the country following the kidnapping of hundreds of civilians, especially school children, in Nigeria over the course of a week.

Arab media According to the President, this is a national emergency and we are deploying additional personnel immediately to meet the security challenges.

It should be noted that in the last one week there have been incidents of abductions that shook the country and in just a few days, unknown assailants have abducted children and staff from schools in different cities and villages and escaped.

Many of the hostages have been rescued while some managed to escape on their own, but 265 children and teachers who were abducted from a Catholic boarding school in Niger State are still missing.

President Tinubu, in view of the growing instability in the country, has immediately ordered massive new recruitment into the armed forces, saying that we are deploying more soldiers and police personnel on the ground to deal with the security crisis.

The government has announced to increase the scope of operations in the affected areas on an emergency basis, while a large-scale search operation is underway to recover the hostages.
