
Israel Hamas War: Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office has made a big announcement regarding the release of hostages kidnapped by Hamas. The PM Office has said that after getting approval from the Security Cabinet and the Government on Friday (January 17, 2025), the agreement will be implemented under the decided framework. Once it is implemented, the hostages are expected to be released by Sunday (January 19, 2025).
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called a meeting of the Security Cabinet to hear the hostage release-ceasefire deal. Before the meeting, Netanyahu participated in a security assessment to discuss implementing the agreement with the negotiating team. PM Netanyahu has also spoken with the team which had returned to Israel after holding the last round of negotiations in Doha.
What can become a hindrance in the release of hostages?
Israel’s full cabinet meeting continues. In this meeting, the terms of the last round of agreement reached in Doha are being discussed. If the security cabinet and the government approve this agreement, the kidnapped hostages will be released by Sunday. A total of 33 hostages will be released once the ceasefire agreement is approved by the Security Cabinet and the full Cabinet and becomes effective, The Times of Israel reported, quoting a statement from the PMO.
Who can be released?
According to the Times of Israel, a total of 33 people will be released. This includes Romy Gonon, (23) Emily Damari, (27) Arbel Yehud, (29) Doron Steinbrecher, (31) Ariel Bibas, (5) Kafir Bibas, (2) Shiri Silberman Bibas, (33) Liri Albagh, (19) Karina Ariev, (20) Agam Berger, (21) Daniel Gilboa, (20) Naama Levy, (20) Names are included.
Apart from these, Ohad Ben-Ami (58), Gadi Moshe Moses (80), Keith Siegel (65), Ofer Calderon (54), Eli Sharabi (52), Itzik Elgarat (70), Shlomo Mansour (86), Ohad Yahalomi ( 50), Oded Lifshitz, (84), Tsahi Idan, (50) and 11 other men under 50: Hisham El-Sayed, 36 Yarden Bibas, 35 Sagui Dekal-Chen, 36 Yair Horn, 46 Omer Wenkert, 23 Sasha Trufanov, 28 Elijah Cohen, 27 Or Levy, 34 Avera Mengistu, 38 Tal Shoham, 39 Omer Shem-Tov, 22 Were involved. There is no information about the people included in this list as to how many of them are still alive.
