Islamabad:
The truth of the claim of reduction in gas prices has been revealed in Ogra’s statement. The agency has approved an increase and not a reduction in overall gas prices.
According to the documents, OGRA has approved an increase in gas prices up to 7.14% for the current financial year.
The gas price for Sui Southern has been increased by Rs 118 47 paise per mmbtu, after which the total price will reach Rs 1777 02 paise per mmbtu. This increase is 7.14%.
Similarly, a 4.89 per cent hike has been approved for Sui Northern, which comes to Rs 86 30 paise per mmbtu.
The new price has been increased to Rs 1852 80 paise per mmbtu.
Ogra has also allowed an adjustment of Rs 60 billion 88 crore for gas companies in previous shortfalls.
It should be noted that earlier, Ogra had issued a statement to the media claiming an average reduction of 8% in gas prices.
However, according to the actual statistics, instead of relief for the consumers, the burden is increasing.
