The authorities is making strict safety preparations for the upcoming OIC convention in Islamabad for which Saturday and Monday have been declared as native holidays within the federal capital however cell phone companies will stay intact, it emerged Friday.

Speaking to the media on the Safe City workplace as we speak, Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid stated Interior Ministry, chief commissioner and police have determined that cell phone companies won’t be blocked.

The minister stated that safety preparations are being made in coordination with the navy and different establishments.

He additionally apologised to the individuals for going through difficulties whereas travelling to the Red Zone space.

In a separate assertion, DC Islamabad Muhammed Hamza Shafqaat introduced that coming Monday and Saturday will probably be native holidays within the metropolis for faculties and personal workplaces.

“Hiking trails in Margalla will stay closed. Metro stations (Pakistan Secretariat to Shaheed-e- Milat Secretariat) will stay closed till Monday,” he added.

‘Historic conference’

Highlighting the issues confronted by the Afghans, Sheikh Rashid stated Afghanistan is going through a humanitarian disaster and the OIC convention will play a historic function in extending help and giving the eye which Afghanistan deserves.

He added that each one credit score for holding the OIC’s extraordinary session went to the incumbent authorities, beneath the dynamic management of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

“Earlier, almost 40 years ago, we [Pakistan] had hosted the OIC conference on Afghanistan, and now this initiative has been taken by the present government to discuss the humanitarian situation in the war-torn country.”

He stated foolproof safety preparations had been made to make sure clean conduct of the moot, being attended by the delegates and international ministers from 57 nations.

“Of course, Prime Minister Imran Khan will also address the OIC’s historic conference,” he stated.
