Lahore:
On the first day of the year, the citizens who came for entertainment at the Lahore Zoo got a big shock where the entry ticket has been increased, while the citizens protested against this move.
The company that got the contract of Lahore Zoo has started charging Rs 300 as an entry ticket, which was protested by the citizens coming to the zoo from different cities of the country and a large number of families returned back.
According to Express News, the contract of Lahore Zoo has been given to a private company for Rs 50 crore and on the first day of the year, the staff of the private company has taken over the management of various places including parking and entry tickets.
The entrance ticket of Lahore Zoo is Rs.100 but the staff of the private company has provided the entrance ticket as well as the snake house to the visitors of the zoo for entertainment. It also started charging 200 rupees for its entry ticket, on which there was a bitter discussion between the citizens and the administration.
Citizens said that charging Rs 300 for entry ticket is excessive, the ticket staff is forcefully giving entry ticket and snake house ticket which cannot be forced on citizens who do not want to get snake house or any other facility.
However, after the protest of the citizens and the news broadcast on Express News, the staff of the private company has stopped the process of giving 200 rupees tickets to the snake house along with the entry ticket.
Citizens said that if anyone wants to see the snake house, he can buy a separate ticket.
It should be noted that in the next few days, various facilities will be introduced for citizens in Lahore Zoo, however, their entry tickets will have to be purchased separately.
In these facilities, one has to pay 300 rupees for hologram ticket, 200 rupees for virtual reality, 100 rupees for mixed reality ticket, 200 rupees for snake house, 100 rupees for aquarium and 100 rupees for walk-through tour.
