Karachi:
A 37-year-old soldier of Pakistan Army, Adnan Abbasi, died as a result of firing in Dhuraji area of Bahadurabad in Shahr Quaid.
Police have confirmed that the victim was posted at 23 F&T Unit in Millar Cantt and was a father of two children.
According to details, the incident took place in Bahadurabad area Maryam Masjid, Adamji Nagar Block B Dhuraji Colony, where one person was killed in firing. The deceased’s body was shifted to Jinnah Hospital by Edhi Ambulance.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Adnan Abbasi son of Ibrahim Abbasi, a resident of Abbottabad.
Bilal Abbasi, brother of the deceased, told the media that Adnan Abbasi was posted in 23 F&T unit of Pakistan Army and was a resident of Adamji Nagar. The deceased has two children, a son and a daughter.
According to the police, the CCTV footage of the incident has been obtained, in which it can be seen that the accused was lying in wait for the incident.
As soon as Adnan Abbasi came some distance from the house, the accused first hit him on the head and then shot him on the neck. When the victim fell down, the accused stole her purse and other belongings and fled.
The police have suspected an attempt to disguise the incident as a robbery and the investigation is ongoing. Police sources say that all aspects of the incident are being investigated and action is being taken to arrest the accused.
The post-mortem of the victim’s body has been completed at Jinnah Hospital, and the police are investigating to get more details.
