Out of England’s Test Series due to a knee injury

London:

England’s fast bowler Oli Stone dropped out of Test matches against Zimbabwe and India this year due to a knee injury.

Oli Stone has undergone a right knee surgery and will need a 14 -week recovery.

Stone took seven wickets in two home Test matches against Sri Lanka last year and was selected for visits to Pakistan and New Zealand but could not join any match.

Last month, during the pre -season training of Nottingham Shire in Abu Dhabi, his knee increased, after which more scans resulted in the need for surgery.

Due to this injury, Stone will lose the only Test against Zimbabwe and five -match series against India in the Trent Bridge from May 22, but is hoping to return to The Hundred by the London Spirits in August.

This is another shock in Stone’s career that returned to the Test team three years later last year. He debuted against Ireland in 2019, but in the next three years, only two Test matches (in 2021 against New Zealand and India) and 11 limited overs matches in the next three years.

In the absence of Stone, England’s fast bowling lineup has come under pressure. Mark Wood has already been out for four months due to knee surgery, while his colleagues are struggling with Bradin Cars Monday. Captain Ben Stokes is also in the process of rehabilitation after a hamstring surgery and is trying to get against Zimbabwe.
