Pakistani Citizens Deported: Even though Pakistan keeps patting itself on the back across the world, questions have always been raised on its credibility. Recently, Pakistani officials themselves have said that within 24 hours, 258 Pakistanis have been expelled from seven countries.
News agency PTI quoted the spokesperson of the Immigration Department at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport as saying that 14 of them had Pakistani passports, while 244 were deported on the basis of emergency travel documents.
He told that we arrested 16 deportees at Karachi airport, one of whom was of doubtful identity, while the rest were released after interrogation. He said that the nine people deported from Saudi Arabia were professional beggars. He said that two of them were caught performing Haj without a permit and were sent back after completing their sentence. He said many of those deported from Saudi Arabia and the UAE were living there, while four were deported on drug charges.
Which countries showed their status to Pakistan?
Apart from Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, one Pakistani each from China, Qatar, Indonesia, Cyprus and Nigeria has been shown the way out of the country. Pakistan official said that the trend of deportation is increasing significantly. In the last 24 hours, the immigration cell of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) also landed 35 passengers at Karachi airport who were traveling to different countries.
Travelers going to Saudi Arabia on Umrah visa were sent back due to lack of advance hotel booking and little money for expenses. Passengers who wanted to go to Saudi Arabia on work visas were deboarded from the plane because they did not have proper work visa documents.
