Pakistan Army troops depart for Qatar to offer safety


RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army troops on Monday left for Qatar for the safety of the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022 — the mega occasion scheduled from November 21 to December 18.

The Pakistan Army troops comprising officers, junior commissioned officers and jawans will help the Qatari authorities through the FIFA WC22.

The Qatari Interior ministry delegation had visited Pakistan in August and requested Pakistan to offer troops for the safety of the mega occasion.

Earlier, an eight-member FIFA workforce additionally visited Pakistan and gave coaching to the Pakistan Army troops earlier than leaving for Doha, Qatar for the safety of the mega occasion.

The approval was given by the federal cupboard to the Pakistan Army-Qatar settlement on offering help through the mega soccer occasion.

The FIFA WC22 shall be performed from November 20 to December 18 in Qatar.
