The Chairman of Pakistan Software House Association (PASHA) has revealed that due to lack of internet speed and policies, Pakistan is losing 1 billion 30 million dollars per day.

In the meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on IT and Telecom, Chairman Pasha told in a briefing that according to the State Bank, Pakistan’s IT exports are 3.2 billion dollars and 3 million households depend on IT and its exports.

He said that with consistent policies and stable infrastructure, exports can reach 15 billion dollars by 2030. Pasha Chairman said that in Internet freedom, Pakistan got 27 marks out of 100 globally, while India got 50 marks, Bangladesh and Philippines got 61 marks.

The head of the association said that according to the report of the international organization PIDE, Pakistan is losing 1.3 billion on a daily basis due to the disruption of the internet service, while an hour of internet shutdown costs the country 900,000. Dollars are lost.

He said the economic impact of bans on VPNs is significant and there is a lack of clarity on Internet policy, with estimated losses of $420 million, freelancers suffering losses of $126 million, and a 30 percent reduction in work. The immediate losses to the IT sector from these restrictions and policies are estimated at $420 million.
