Pakistan Blast: An explosion occurred in the premises of a police station around 11:30 am on Friday (January 3) in the I-9 area of Islamabad, Pakistan. According to the report of ARY News, no one was injured in this attack due to the intensity of the explosion being limited. A duty officer heard the explosions and ignored them, mistaking them for a tire burst. However, it was later revealed that the explosion took place in the premises of the police station, which was caused by a mini rocket. After this, the police have collected the metal pieces found near the wall. According to ARY News report, further investigation is going on.
In 2022, a similar incident had also rocked a police station in Islamabad’s I-10 area, killing one person and injuring several others. According to ARY News report, on December 25, 2024, a police officer was killed in an attack by terrorists in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. An official on the matter said that the terrorists opened fire in the jurisdiction of Ahmadzai Sub-Division Wazir Police Station, killing Head Constable Wazir Zada, after which the police head constable was taken to the District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem. .

Recently, a policeman was killed and a polio worker was injured in an attack by unknown assailants in the Karak area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The policemen were protecting a team carrying out an anti-polio campaign in Banda Dawood Shah area of Karak. Law enforcement officials said that additional police forces were sent to the spot after the attackers fled. Earlier on December 2, 2024, at least three children lost their lives when a motor shell exploded in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The incident took place in Sintanga Jani sports area of Bannu, where madrasa students were playing with shells. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police officials said that the shell exploded in their hands, killing three people on the spot.
