Pakistan receives cargo ship carrying 40 buses for Karachi BRT undertaking

A cargo ship carrying the Green Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) undertaking buses has arrived in Pakistan, placing public transportation in Karachi one step nearer to a much-needed enhance.

Port authorities instructed Geo News that the cargo ship Feng Shen, carrying 40 buses, arrived in Pakistani waters on Sunday.

The second cargo of 40 buses will arrive in Pakistan from China within the first week of October, they revealed.

The arrival of first cargo was just lately introduced by federal Minister for Planning and Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar .

Earlier this month, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail had additionally introduced that the BRT undertaking will likely be inaugurated in Karachi in a month’s time.

The undertaking had been began again in 2016 by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who had aimed to finish the undertaking inside one yr. However, as a result of varied causes, the undertaking remained incomplete.
