Gulf Countries bans Visa for Pakistan : Pakistan has been embarrassed in many Gulf countries. The United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia and many other Gulf countries have imposed an indefinite ban on people from 30 cities of Pakistan by flatly refusing to grant them visas. The Gulf country and its major cities are the favorite destinations for millions of Pakistani travelers and job seekers.
The already bad image of Pakistani passport has been further damaged following the travel ban and increasing incidents of visa application rejections. Because of this, Pakistani passport has been ranked fourth worst in the world for the third consecutive year. Apart from this, UAE has made it mandatory for visa applicants from Pakistan to submit character certificate issued by the police.
Why was Pakistani people banned??
Podcaster Nadir Ali, during a conversation with the owner of a big travel company in Karachi, said that ‘Saudi Arabia and Dubai are popular destinations for Pakistanis, but now they have stopped giving visas.’ Actually, behind this action of Gulf countries, it is the Pakistanis’ own doing. In the last few years, a large number of suspicious travelers have gone abroad from Pakistan, who become drug smugglers, beggars and human smugglers and start living abroad illegally. Saudi Arabia has warned Pakistan regarding the increasing incidents of beggars being caught.
Gulf companies complain about Pakistani recruiters
It is noteworthy that many companies of Gulf countries have complained to their recruiters in Pakistan that the people sent by them fail to meet the relevant job requirements. Muddasar Mir, managing director of Vinci Tours and Travels in Islamabad, told IANS that Gulf companies no longer want to hire any laborers or technicians from Pakistan because they know that the workforce coming from Pakistan will prove to be inefficient.
