PCB Announces Resumption of National Women’s ODI Cricket Tournament

The PCB has taken a unique twist, resuming the five-team National Women’s ODI Cricket Tournament from Thursday after announcing the finalist teams.

In the tournament, Challengers, Conquers, Invisibles, Stars and Strikers will compete against each other in a double league format.

On the first day, the Conkers will face the Challengers at the RL Ground, Rawalpindi, while the Strikers will face the Stars at the Murghazar Cricket Ground, Islamabad.

The winning team of the tournament will be given a prize money of Rs 33 lakh while the runner-up will be given Rs 15 lakh and the third position team will be given Rs 10 lakh.

Well-known national cricketers will serve as mentors in the tournament, Waqar Younis Challengers, Misbah-ul-Haq Conkers, Sarfaraz Ahmed Invincibles, Shoaib Malik Stars and Saqlain Mushtaq are the mentors of the Strikers.

Earlier, the tournament started from November 8 at the oval ground of Hanif Muhammad Regional High Performance Center and UBL ground in Karachi. On November 18, PCB decided to stop the tournament after a fire incident occurred in the team hotel. The top two teams after 5 rounds, Invisibles and Stars, were declared eligible to participate in the finals.

The final of the event will be played on December 22 at the KRL ground.
